Maya Dickerson is an athletic guard who can do it all on the court. The first thing that comes to mind when critiquing Maya is defense. She can change the game with her ability to pressure the ball. In addition, she is often asked to guard the best player on the other team which she does extremely well. When Maya is in the game, the energy level on the defensive end of the floor always rises.
Maya has also developed into a very well-rounded offensive player. She can play the one or the two. Maya can score from three, has a strong pull-up game, and can finish around the rim. Her experience at the point guard position over the years has also developed her into a strong passer. This makes her a constant threat and a match-up problem for the other team.
Maya's pedigree is impressive. Her father played professional basketball and her older sister currently plays at the Division 1 level. Maya has this same trajectory and the Team Pennsylvania staff continues to be so excited for her future. She is definitely a 2025 prospect to keep an eye on.

"Our defense starts with Maya. She is our best on-ball defender and is asked to shut down the best guard on the other team every game. This makes her extremely hard to not have on the floor. This year Maya has been asked to play the point for our team and has proved that she can be a tremendous asset at either the one or two position. We have also asked her to score more this year and she has responded. She is an extremely well-rounded offensive player. She has had games this year where she has led our team in scoring as our point guard while guarding the other team's best player. Maya's hard work and commitment to getting better over the last couple years has truly turned her into an outstanding college prospect."
